I joined ASCO in June 2010 to manage its Middle East operations which are centred in Oman. Previously I worked in a number of senior roles in the UK, Europe and the Middle East. I am a logistics generalist but have significant experience of warehousing, freight and overland transportation. |
|
The position of Country Director, Oman is an extremely challenging and exciting role. My mission is to achieve a solid and sustainable revenue income both in Oman and across the wider Middle East, whilst maintaining ASCO’s focus on safety, service and innovation. |

| I first met with ASCO in 1992 when my family business was looking to partner with a firm that had logistics experience in order to bid on the work developing in Offshore Newfoundland. That first visit resulted in a joint venture being established in 1995. I have been the President of ASCO Canada ever since and was honoured to later take on the role of President - North America. |
|
We have been successful in maintaining a strong work and service focus within the business unit, which has resulted in client renewals or additional business. We have developed a strong safety focus and look forward to continuing to keep a tight focus on safety issues. |

| I joined the company in January 2001 to manage the Trinidad operation. As an active supporter of step change in safety, we also introduced operational management of the local facilities and defined a new level of competence that ensures that the work-force can deliver more. |
|
Our successes pivot around our implemented strategies designed to provide our customers with the most suitable, seamless, cost effective and easy to use service possible. |

| I have been employed within the offshore industry for the last 30 years, 20 of which have been with ASCO. Starting my career on offshore gas platforms as a Helicopter Landing Officer, which also included all aspects of logistics requirements for the platform, I eventually moved to working onshore in various logistics functions from operations to contract administration and then management. In 2008, I was appointed as Business Director for ASCO's Great Yarmouth logistics operation and was offered the position of MD Australia in late 2010. |
|
During my time with ASCO I have seen the company go from strength to strength to the current market leader that it is today. Having been involved in this evolution it is gives a great deal of pride to introduce the ASCO model, processes and systems to the new business in Australia. |

In 2006, I joined ASCO as the Managing Director for our Norwegian business, ASCO Norge. Previous to this role, I worked with Nor-Cargo, Norway's largest transport / forwarding company for 15 years as Marketing Manager, Sales Manager Major Accounts, and within Business Development. I also hold degrees in Business Economics and Logistics Economics. ASCO Norge is looking toward a bright future. With operations spanning the country, we are able to provide base services from a variety of locations such as Farsund, Tananger (near Stavanger), Bergen, Kristiansund, Sandnessjøen, and a developing area in Hammerfest. |
|
Through these strategic locations, ASCO Norge is able to offer customised services to suit all client requirements. Key services range from warehousing, base and marine supply services, containers, freight forwarding, environmental services and transport.
We are very proud of the culture in the company with a high focus on safety and the lowest sick-leave record in our industry. |

The UK and CE region remains the backbone of ASCO's international business and our reputation for safe and efficient service delivery has resulted in our leading position in the North Sea market.
In 2011, I joined ASCO's UK and CE business, responsible for directing and controlling the operations delivery, whilst seeking continuous improvements in service levels, safety and environmental performance and encouraging the development of innovative solutions and opportunities that will enable the business to grow even further. |
|
I bring over 20 years of oil and gas, operational, commercial and leadership experience to this role, having worked in a number of senior positions within oil and gas service companies in the UK and overseas. |

Prior to working in the oil and gas logistics business, my early experience was in the shipping and subsea oil and gas construction markets and I remain a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers.
I joined ASCO as its Marketing Manager in 1995 at a very exciting time. Operators were beginning to outsource their logistic operations and ASCO was in a prime position to support this with its significant expertise, experience and infrastructure.
|
|
I’ve been part of ASCO’s considerable growth ever since, with highlights including the opening of new ASCO businesses in Brazil and Trinidad.
In my current role as Group Business Development Director, I spend most of my time investigating new opportunities in new markets for ASCO. I never cease to be amazed by the hard work and enthusiasm of ASCO staff in start-ups or in the development of existing businesses around the world and I consider myself very fortunate being able to work with so many ASCO people.

I started with ASCO in 1985. From 1990, I undertook a number of managerial roles including Fuels, Engineering, and Resource Management through to 1998 when I was offered the opportunity to start up Enviroco Ltd., our waste management business, where we witnessed a growth from zero to £12m t/o in 2005.
This was achieved by having an excellent team of people in the key financial, commercial and operational positions.
In 2006, I rejoined the ASCO business as Director of Operations and in February 2007 was delighted to take up the challenge to lead the NNS business. |
|
My previous role was MD of UK and Central Europe, where I was responsible for supporting the European business by developing plans and strategies that assisted that expansion.
As MD of ASCO Freight Management, I will be working with the team to take forward the international expansion of one of our key businesses.

I joined Enviroco in September 1998 and worked as both Operations Manager and Commercial Manager before taking on the role of Managing Director. My previous roles were with Sidlaw Packaging as initially Divisional Finance Director and latterly General Manager of both Venus Flexible Packaging and Transrap. I also worked with the Scottish Cooperative Wholesale Society, Scottish Brick, Whyte & MacKay and Metal Box.
From a standing start in 1998, we have grown considerably with a turnover to around £25m in 2006. We have not lost a single contract since our inception and first award from Phillips Petroleum (now ConocoPhillips). |
|
We won the Shell PSV Tank Cleaning tender in 1999 and have had a relationship with them ever since, becoming their Integrated Waste Managers in November 2003.
Most importantly, we have developed a culture within the company that ensures our people and our subcontractors work safely in all aspects of our business, assess operational risks sensibly, are environmentally aware and enjoy working with us. |
