ASCO, the world’s leading oil and gas logistics company, has expanded its operations in the Asia Pacific region by opening a new oil and gas logistics hub in Singapore.
The hub is located in Tuas in the industrial corridor in the Western part of Singapore, near the Malaysian border. It comprises substantial covered high bay warehousing and open yard storage. The facility has a floor area of 35,000sqft, three loading docks, a mezzanine floor and integrated client offices.
Commenting on the new hub, Billy Allan, ASCO Chief Executive said:
“In recent years we have firmly established ourselves as a leading oil and gas logistics company in the Asia Pacific region with a logistics base in Darwin, Australia opening at the end of 2010 and a freight management office in Singapore opening in 2009.”
“Our investment in the Singapore Logistics Hub will further enhance our service to our clients in the Asia Pacific region and today’s announcement represents a significant step towards expanding our presence in this key area.”
Neil Johnson, Managing Director of ASCO Singapore, added:
“Alongside ASCO’s existing Asia Pacific logistics base in Darwin, Australia, the Singapore hub will support the logistics requirements of oil and gas exploration and production and associated services in the region, including South East Asia, China, India and Australasia. The base will also support the huge rig and ship building industry, centered in Singapore.”
Also announced recently, the ShoreASCO* consortium has been named as the preferred tenderer by the Australian Northern Territory government to develop and operate a world-class marine supply base in Darwin, further strengthening ASCO’s position in the Asia Pacific market.
