£50 Million Contracts, Mark ASCO's 50th Year

Leading global supply base operator ASCO has continued its landmark 50th anniversary year with the announcement that it has secured quayside logistics and waste management work worth £50 million in the Southern North Sea (SNS).

The news represents a significant step in consolidating the Aberdeen-headquartered company’s market leading position in the region, and provides a solid foundation from which to continue to grow in the SNS and beyond.

The announcement involves a mixture of new business and renewed contracts, ranging from one to five years in duration.  Clients include Centrica Exploration and Production, INEOS and Centrica Storage Ltd.

It is anticipated that the recent contract wins, coupled with investment in shore-side infrastructure for ship-to-shore waste transfers and tailored storage packages for handling liquid products will provide a springboard towards securing additional business.

The creation of flexible solutions remains central to the company’s approach, both in terms of the bespoke options offered and the commercial frameworks in which they are delivered.  This has facilitated both consolidation of existing relationships with key IOC, E&P and major contractor clients as well as the fostering of new associations which have augmented the year’s success to date.

Commenting on the news, Regional Director UK SNS, Glenn Hurren said: “We are delighted that, against a challenging economic backdrop and a competitive tendering environment, our milestone year has already yielded many important pieces of work for us.  This achievement is testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone on the team, and is a reflection of their commitment to ensuring a vibrant future for ASCO.

“As well as our unrivalled half-century reputation for providing trusted services of the very highest standard, clients tell us that our excellent safety culture and track record played an important role in ASCO being selected as their provider of choice.

“Additionally, our ability to combine the services for which we are known with diversification into new areas such as decommissioning means that we are able to evolve in step with the needs of our clients.  This will stand us in good stead as we embrace the ongoing challenges which continue to prevail in our industry.”
