Steve Mitchell has been appointed to the Senior Management team at ASCO, taking up the role of Operations Director (Scotland) as the materials management company continues its drive for efficiency through digitalisation.
Steve, who will be based at ASCO HQ in Aberdeen, will play a pivotal role in the future growth and development of ASCO's business - with a focus on the operation of the company's supply bases in Peterhead and Aberdeen.
Commenting on his appointment, Steve said: "I'm looking forward to joining the team at ASCO, a company with strong local heritage and presence. This is a tremendous opportunity for me to apply my industry experience and contribute to ASCO's development and growth, and I very much look forward to the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead."
Steve has worked in oil and gas for 34 years and has experience both in the UK and internationally with several major international oil companies including Chevron, Oryx Energy, Kerr-McGee and latterly Maersk Oil, where he held the role of Global Head of Logistics. In his role at Maersk, Steve created a corporate centre of excellence for logistics and provided strategic and tactical leadership for transportation and logistics operations across the E&P value chain.

My aim is to challenge and eradicate inefficiencies and drive change where necessary, whilst continuing to deliver value and ensure our operations continue to be executed to the highest safety standards" he said.
